How to solve level 5, step by step
- Answer the five clued rungs first. On the level 5 ladder they solve to HOLD, FOLD, FOOD, FOOL and POOL.
- Now put those five in the one order where each word differs from its neighbour by a single letter. That forced order (the same puzzle read either way up) links them like this:
- HOLD becomes FOLD by changing the first letter from H to F.
- FOLD becomes FOOD by changing the third letter from L to O.
- FOOD becomes FOOL by changing the fourth letter from D to L.
- FOOL becomes POOL by changing the first letter from F to P.
- Line the five up that way and the ends unlock. The top answer TOLD sits one letter from HOLD (the first letter, T to H), and the bottom answer COOL sits one letter from POOL (the first letter, P to C). Solve those two clues to finish the climb.
