How to solve level 4, step by step
- Answer the five clued rungs first. On the level 4 ladder they solve to BEAD, BEAM, BEAR, DEAR and REAR.
- Now put those five in the one order where each word differs from its neighbour by a single letter. That forced order (the same puzzle read either way up) links them like this:
- BEAD becomes BEAM by changing the fourth letter from D to M.
- BEAM becomes BEAR by changing the fourth letter from M to R.
- BEAR becomes DEAR by changing the first letter from B to D.
- DEAR becomes REAR by changing the first letter from D to R.
- Line the five up that way and the ends unlock. The top answer BEND sits one letter from BEAD (the third letter, N to A), and the bottom answer REAL sits one letter from REAR (the fourth letter, R to L). Solve those two clues to finish the climb.
