Word Climb level 39 answer and walkthrough

A 6-letter ladder rated hard, level 39 of 40. Word Climb levels are identical for every player, so this solution always matches the ladder in your game.

The level 39 ladder

Each rung differs from the one above by exactly one letter. The highlighted tile is the letter that changes as you climb.

Level 39 clues and answers

  1. DOCKET (top rung): A list of items or court cases
  2. SOCKET: Where a plug goes in
  3. LOCKET: A pendant that opens up
  4. LOCKER: A locking storage cupboard
  5. ROCKER: A chair that tips back and forth
  6. ROCKET: It launches into orbit
  7. RACKET (bottom rung): A raised din, or a tennis bat

How to solve level 39, step by step

  1. Answer the five clued rungs first. On the level 39 ladder they solve to SOCKET, LOCKET, LOCKER, ROCKER and ROCKET.
  2. Now put those five in the one order where each word differs from its neighbour by a single letter. That forced order (the same puzzle read either way up) links them like this:
  3. SOCKET becomes LOCKET by changing the first letter from S to L.
  4. LOCKET becomes LOCKER by changing the sixth letter from T to R.
  5. LOCKER becomes ROCKER by changing the first letter from L to R.
  6. ROCKER becomes ROCKET by changing the sixth letter from R to T.
  7. Line the five up that way and the ends unlock. The top answer DOCKET sits one letter from SOCKET (the first letter, D to S), and the bottom answer RACKET sits one letter from ROCKET (the second letter, O to A). Solve those two clues to finish the climb.
