Twenty Up 🧪 Beta
This game is in beta: fresh out of the workshop, so expect a few rough edges while we polish it. Scores aren't being saved right now.
- Drag a tile onto a matching one and they become the next number. Two 3s make a 4, not a 6.
- Aim at empty space instead and the tile falls to the top of that stack. Any column, any distance.
- A tile is fair game when the cell above, left or right of it is empty. Only one hemmed in on all three sides is stuck.
- A new row pushes up on the timer. Reach 20 before the stack hits the roof.
🎯 Objective
Combine matching tiles to climb the number ladder one step at a time, and build a tile that reads 20 before the stack reaches the top of the board.
📊 How you score
Every merge scores the new tile's value squared, so making a 12 is worth 144 and a 15 is worth 225. Merges that chain off a single drop multiply as they go: the second merge in a cascade counts double, the third triple, and so on. Completing a 20 clears that tile off the board and pays a 2,000 point bonus on top. Your highest tile is tracked separately, and that is the number the badges care about.
💡 Tips
- Keep the stack low and flat. Height is what ends runs, not the clock.
- Gaps are as useful as tiles. An empty cell beside a tall column is what keeps everything in it reachable, so resist the urge to fill every hole.
- Look for cascades: drop into a column where the tile you are about to make will land on another copy of itself.
- New tiles always arrive a couple of steps below your best tile, so pushing your best number higher also improves everything you get dealt.
