Your score is the highest level you have solved on the 2000-level ladder. Boards grow from a cozy 5x5 up to a fiendish 10x10, then four chapters keep turning the screws: Night Prowl demands deeper deductions, Rooftop Run only ships boards that need the hardest technique in the book and cuts your lives to five, and Moonlit Alley floors every board above almost anything before it, on three lives. Every level can be cracked by pure logic, no guessing ever needed.

💡 Tips

Start with the smallest color patches: a patch with only one or two free squares often forces a cat immediately.
Use X marks (or the auto-paws assist) to record squares a placed cat rules out. What is written down cannot be forgotten.
If a color patch fits entirely inside one row or column, the rest of that line can be crossed out even before you know the exact square.
Never guess. Every board has exactly one solution, and the hint paw can always point you to the next forced move.

What are the rules of Catdoku?

Do Catdoku levels ever require guessing?

No. Every one of the 2000 levels has exactly one solution and is verified to be solvable by pure step-by-step logic. If you are stuck, the hint paw points at the area where the next forced move hides.

What happens when I place a cat in the wrong spot?

The board freezes and shows you exactly which rule the cat broke, highlighting the conflicting row, column, color patch or touching neighbour. Each mistake costs one of the level's lives; lose them all and the level is over. Later chapters hand out fewer lives, so the endgame boards forgive less. If a level gets away from you, the reset button clears the board and hands your lives back.

How many levels does Catdoku have and do they get harder?

There are 2000 levels across four chapters. Sunny Windowsill grows from 5x5 to 10x10 with steadily deeper logic. Night Prowl revisits 7x7 through 10x10 where every board demands at least one deeper deduction. Rooftop Run only ships boards that require the hardest technique in the book, on 8x8 to 10x10 grids, and cuts you to five lives.
