Many users have reported “Call Failed” error. This error appears whenever they are trying to make a call. Sometimes, it even appears in the middle of a discussion. Call Failed error leads to dropping of calls.

- Network connectivity in your area is weak. So, the signal strength is poor.
- SIM Card is damaged or not properly placed in the SIM Card slot.
- Software bugs messing with the call.
How to Fix iPhone Call Failed Error?
Toggle Airplane Mode
Swipe up from any screen of your iPhone in order to access the Control Center. You will get the Airplane icon on the upper left-hand corner of the Control Center. Tap on that icon. Wait for a moment. Tap on that icon again. This will turn off the Airplane mode. Check if this process fixes Call Failed error on your iPhone.

Date and Time
Check if your iPhone is displaying date and time correctly. If you have traveled from a different time zone, then that may have changed some of the settings. Check if your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi. Now go to “Settings”. Click on “General”. Now tap on “Date and Time”. Turn on “Set Automatically”. This will automatically update the date and time on your smartphone.

Dial *#31#
*#31# is an iPhone code to disable your outgoing anonymity status. Maybe you have set your iPhone number to be hidden in all outgoing call by mistake. This is one of the reasons for Call Failure error appearing every time you try to make or receive a call.
There are two ways to check it. First is to dial *#31# from your iPhone. The second one is to go to “Settings”. Click on “Phone”. Then click on “Show My Caller ID”. If the button color is green, then all is good.

Restart iPhone
Turning off and turning your iPhone back on is the easiest way to solve any phone issues. Hold the power button for a few seconds. A red slider will appear. Move the slider from left to right. When the iPhone is turned off, then wait for 20 seconds. Now, turn your iPhone on by holding the power button.
Network Carrier Settings Update

Disable LTE

Re-insert SIM Card
SIM Card is damaged or not properly placed in the SIM Card slot is of the reasons for call dropping. Open the tray using a paper clip or the SIM eject tool. Now, take out the SIM Card. Try to insert the SIM Card to another phone and see if it works fine. You can also try to insert another working SIM Card to your iPhone and see if you are still getting the iPhone call failed error.
Call your Network Carrier
Check if there is any damage or scratch on your SIM Card. Call your network carrier. Ask them if there is an issue on the carrier network. If they say that there is no problem with the network connection, then ask them for a SIM Card replacement.
Update iOS

Make sure you are connected to stable internet. Go to “Settings”. Click on “General”. Now, click on “Software Update”. If there is a software update present, then download it. Once the download is completed, tap on “Install Now”. This will update your iOS.

Reset All Settings
Resetting all settings will bring your iPhone to factory settings. This process will not delete any of your files or personal data. So, there is no need to back up. Open “Settings”, click on “General”, and then click on “Reset”. Select “Reset All Settings”. Enter your passcode. Select “Reset All Settings” to confirm.

Erase iPhone
If the above process does not solve your problem, then try erasing your iPhone. Erasing your mobile will bring your iPhone to factory settings. This process will delete all your files and personal data. So, you must back up your data beforehand. Open “Settings”, click on “General”, and then click on “Reset”. Select “Reset All Contents and Settings”. Enter your passcode. Select “Erase iPhone” to confirm.
Restore iPhone
Restoring deletes each and everything from your iPhone. Your mobile will be as good as new. So, there will no call errors in it. Make sure you back up your files before proceeding with the steps. Your iPhone should be fully charged and must be connected to a stable internet connection. Without the internet, your iPhone may get stuck in recovery mode. Connect iPhone to Mac or PC with the latest iTunes version installed inside by using a lightning cable. Click “Restore” in the Summary tab. Before the process starts, iTunes will download the firmware first. Wait until the restoring process is completed.
